Taking advantage of the large presence of a public connected to the construction business in the M&T Expo 2015, Sobratema started officially the Construction Expo – International Trade Show and Congress of Buildings and Infrastructure Works, whose third edition will be carried out from June 8 to 10, 2016 at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.

The main approach of the event will be Cities in Motion – Constructive Solutions for the Municipalities. “The Idea is to stimulate companies, public managers, consulting companies and public and private institutions to show products, services and intelligent solutions to improve and update Brazilian cities, focusing examples developed in Brazil and in foreign countries”, said Afonso Mamede, president of Sobratema, during the launching event. He emphasized that this will be a unique event in the Brazilian market of trade shows—with huge business opportunities—and also a showcase to benefit the larger urban centers of the country.

Sobratema expects to receive about 300 exhibitors that will occupy an area of 40,000 sq.mt., and a public around 20,000 visitors. “The trade show will increase the relationship between public managers and companies specialized in supplying engineering solutions, promoting ideas, showing well-succeeded projects and executive feasibility to improve urban infrastructure”, ended Mamede.

The Construction Expo will show successful national and international cases of urban projects of several natures—involving different technologies and systems—with the participation of several government levels working together with private initiative.

The trade show will be divided in several areas. One of these areas will have Thematic Halls that will help the visitor to understand better how different construction systems work and to know their innovative ideas. In these halls, equipment manufacturers, construction contractors and public managers will have the opportunity to look in detail the main technologic innovations integrated to construction systems.

In addition to the Trade Show, the visitor will may also take part in the Construction Congress 2016, which includes a series of conferences, seminars and courses that will inspire managers of municipalities of the whole country.

The M&T Expo 2015 included a stand specially dedicated to starting and disclosure of the Construction Expo 2016. An intense program of conferences was carried out in this stand, with the participation of renowned experts in infrastructure that dealt during four days with subjects such as Sustainability turned to business generation in civil construction industry; Long-term planning and urban infrastructures; Technical limitations, low capacity of investment and the challenges of municipality managers and the Legacy of the World Cup and of the 2016 Olympic Games.
